Reinforced concrete

Reinforced concrete is a generally used building material. To increase the tensile strength of concrete constructions, steel rods are cast in the concrete. These rods are an effective and cost-efficient way of concrete reinforcement, though regrettably also often subject to rust.

Due to their low weight, excellent chemical and mechanical properties, and good fatigue resistance, glass-fibre and carbon-fibre reinforcement rods (GFRP and CFRP rods) are an excellent and sustainable alternative, especially in aggressive environments.
