Structural inner layer in piezoelectric actuators

A new development is the application of DPP glass-fibre or carbon strips in piezoelectric actuators. The dimensional stability and good mechanical properties but, above all, the unique electrical-engineering properties, make micro-pultrusion strips extremely suitable as intermediate layer (structural inner layer and insulator or conductor) between the active piezo layers of a bimorphous piezo-multilayer actuator.
