Other applications in the medical industry

Many other carbon and glass-fibre applications are possible in the medical industry. Due to the low weight and excellent mechanical properties of DPP composite profiles, they are also used for making lightweight external fixators.

In orthopaedics, also, applications have been developed using carbon or glass fibre. For example, components of orthoses, prostheses, wheel chairs and other medical aids are made of carbon or glass-fibre profiles, for which the resilience and high elongation at break of the composites in particular are important.
